Hudson – Dorothy M. “Dotty” (Larson) Sawtelle, 86, of Hudson, died Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at UMass Memorial Healthcare, Marlborough Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Albin and Elva (Beals) Larson of Madison, Maine, and the wife of the late Franklyn M. “Bud” Sawtelle of Hudson, who died in 2011. She was also the mother of the late Ronald Sawtelle of Marlborough, who died earlier this year.
Dotty graduated from Maine Medical Center in 1952 and worked as a registered nurse at multiple locations until her retirement from Westborough Nursing Home as the Director of Nursing in 1982.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Wellen and her husband William of West Chester, Pa.; her son, Michael Sawtelle and his wife Ann of Hudson; her brother, Fred Larson and his wife Andrea of Arizona; her sister, Moneda “Bunny” Worster and her husband Beale of Madison, Maine; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Sawtelle of Marlborough; her grandchildren, Heather Sawtelle-Mckenzie, Matthew Sawtelle, David, Andrew and William Wellen, and Cynthia Parkins; and her great-grandchildren, Benjamin Sawtelle, Brett, Jeffrey and Michaela Sawtelle-Mckenzie, Joshua, Lena and Arianna Wellen and Clayton Parkins. Dotty was also the sister of the late Beth Demchak, Marilyn Sabol and Fredonna Pease.
Her funeral was held May 18 at the First Church in Marlborough, Congregational. Burial will be private and held at the National Cemetery, Bourne.
