HUDSON – Police arrested a man, Wednesday, who allegedly robbed a woman at knifepoint in the municipal parking lot on South Street in Hudson.

Now, they’re asking for the community’s help as Justin Bissonnette, 40, faces charges of armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon and breaking and entering into a vehicle for felony.

911 callers report robbery in progress

Community members noticed a large police presence in the area around South Street on Wednesday.

Hudson Police Chief Richard DiPersio then detailed the incident in a statement on Friday morning, explaining that police had first received multiple calls reporting a robbery in progress around 10:45 a.m.

“It was reported a female victim, while seated inside her vehicle, was approached by an unknown male subject who was holding a knife,” DiPersio’s statement said. “The male subject opened a door to her vehicle, brandished a knife, and demanded she hand over her purse.”

Police deployed their K9 unit and eventually arrested Bissonnette within roughly 30 minutes.

Bissonnettee was arraigned in Marlborough District Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Suspect has prior legal history

Bissonnette is from Hudson according to DiPersio’s statement.

A search of court records now shows well over a dozen criminal cases against “Justin Lee Bissonnette” filed in Marlborough District Court before this latest incident.

Those date back to 1998 and include prior charges for assault and battery, larceny and resisting arrest, among other things.

A recent case from March of this year remains ongoing according to court documents.

Investigation ongoing, police say

Hudson police say their investigation into this most recent incident, likewise, remains ongoing.

DiPersio asked anyone who might have witnessed this incident to contact the detective bureau at 978-562-7122, ext. 215.

He also asked that property owners on South Street and Houghton Street with exterior surveillance cameras view their footage and report anything suspicious to police.

“There is no immediate threat to the community,” the statement concluded.

This is an ongoing story. It will be updated with any additional information that becomes available…
