Southborough – The town of Southborough has won an award from the Northeastern Economic Developers Association (NEDA) for its Business, Nonprofit and Community Guide.
According to Chris Robins, the chair of the Southborough Economic Development Team (EDT), the publication was created as a collaboration between the EDT, town leadership, local businesses and nonprofits.
The guide was honored by NEDA with the distinction of “Excellent,” for “Best Practices in Literature and Promotions for Economic Development.”
The brochure, Robins said, is the principle marketing piece for Southborough. The town has been striving to promote economic development and to welcome those who may wish to locate in the community. The guide was designed to provide readers with insight as to why residents, companies, and nonprofits prefer to live, work and establish their businesses in Southborough.
Mark Purple has been the town administrator since mid-October.
“We are excited about this wonderful recognition and congratulations to all those involved in its publication,” he said. “Developing and maintaining relationships with our business community is vital to the growth and sustainability of our community. To strengthen our financial well-being, it is critical that we continue to find ways to retain and attract businesses to Southborough.”
Robins noted that the guide is rich with information that communicates the unique aspects of the community including development opportunities, business resources, nonprofits, recreational resources, places of worship, the arts, entertainment, town facilities, colleges, schools, parks, and annual events.
The guide was published by Global Design & Publishing, LLC, Putnam, CT.
