Northborough – Town Administrator John Coderre presented a draft of the warrant for the Annual Town Meeting (ATM) at the Feb. 25 Board of Selectmen's meeting. There are currently 52 potential articles on the warrant, he said.
“A number of these are very little more than placeholders,” he noted. “There are no citizen petitions at this year's meeting. We don’t have anything else that I’m aware of that is not included in this draft.”
Of the articles, the first 17 articles are what Coderre described as “routine, standard articles” concerning department budgets and revolving accounts. Other notable articles concern zoning bylaws regarding wireless communications and usage of signs. Two articles concern a new pump station created at the Walmart store located at 200 Otis St. which is in the process of expanding into a Super Walmart. The town will need to take ownership of this station, Coderre said, but that measure must first be approved at the ATM.
There are also several Community Preservation Act projects on the warrant. A presentation on these projects will be given at the next Board of Selectmen meeting, Monday, March 11.
The ATM will be held on Monday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Algonquin Regional High School.
