Marlborough – The 130 faculty members of the Whitcomb Middle School in Marlborough had much to “SMile” June 12.? As part of St. Mary's Credit Union's 100th anniversary celebration, credit union employees visited the school's last faculty meeting of the year to say “thank you” for all that the teachers do for the youth of the community.? The “Act of Kindness” included travel mugs, candy and gift cards for each teacher, catering for the meeting – including a sheet cake that proudly stated “St. Mary's Credit Union Y Teachers” – and a donation to the school of five new iPads.
“We were delighted to deliver this surprise “thank you” to educators that play such an important role in our community,” said Anthony J. Battista, vice president, marketing for the credit union, “and to advance their technological capabilities with the donation of the iPads.”
The credit union plans to commit several other Random Acts of Kindness in the Metrowest area at undisclosed times and locations throughout 2013.
Previous Random Acts of Kindness can be viewed at www.youtube.com/abettercreditunion1 and on the credit union's website, www.stmaryscu.org/100th-anniversary.? The Whitcomb Middle School Random Act of Kindness will be available on these sites shortly.
