Marlborough – The City’s Youth Commission’s Drug Free & Alcohol Awareness Campaign has a new logo courtesy of a Marlborough High School (MHS) senior.
Students in the MHS Visual Communications Design 1 class were invited last fall to participate in a citywide logo contest for the commission. Students were asked to base designs on the slogan “A Healthy Me is Drug Free.” The contest also carried a monetary award for the first- and second-place winners as well as for the school.
On April 14, two MHS students were awarded first- and second-place honors for their designs. The winning design is by senior Kate Greenlaw, who received $350 for her logo. Second-place honors went to junior Maegan Moynihan, who received $150. For encouraging their students’ participation in the competition, MHS received a check for $1,000.
Greenlaw’s logo will be featured on the Youth Commission’s website and other media to help spread the word about living drug- and alcohol-free in Marlborough.
