Westborough – The Westborough Farmers’ Market has returned to downtown Westborough for its seventh consecutive year. The weekly market serves, in part, as an opportunity for members of the Dismas House social service group to sell farm products to the community.
The market takes place every Thursday from 12pm to 6pm at the Westborough Congregational Church at 57 West Main St.. It features live music and craft projects in addition to vegetables and other farmers’ market staples.
The market is one of several community outreach initiatives run by the Worcester based Dismas House, a farm-based reentry program focused on developing strong communities to help former prisoners re-acclimate to society.
“We wanted them to have a place to sell their products and get out in the community,” organizer Colleen Hilferty said of her motivation to start the farmers’ market. “Since we lived in Westborough, we knew there wasn’t a farmer’s market here and we decided to start one.”
The Westborough Farmers’ Market will remain open every Thursday through September 28.
