Shrewsbury – Each year thousands of young men and women apply to one of the five United States military academies – the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Hudson – The annual Memorial Day baseball rivalry pitting Hudson High School (HHS) against Marlborough High School has produced countless memories for several decades. This year's game, played May 27 at Riverside Park in Hudson, will be remembered as the culmination of a month-long fundraiser organized by the HHS players to benefit the One Fund Boston. Southborough honors veterans

Southborough - Each year on the Friday before Memorial Day, Southborough's veterans invite the community to join them in placing flags on the graves of veterans at the Rural Cemetery located on Route 85. And each year, the town's local scouts help to ensure that a flag is placed on every veteran's grave in tribute and honor of their service. The scouts also collect the flags that were placed the prior year. Those flags are then properly disposed under the direction of Steve Whynot, the VFW Post 3276 commander.
