WHS students perform ‘The Comedy of Errors’

Westborough – The Westborough High School’s Center Stage Theater Company performed, “The Comedy of Errors,” a play by William Shakespeare, Nov. 15-17.

Anne Slotnick, the director of the show, was thrilled to be a part of this experience and quite impressed with how the students met the challenge of the Shakespearian language.

“I knew I had a group of strong comedic actors. I really enjoy Shakespeare, and wanted to give the students the exposure,” said Slotnick.

The costumes were rented and some were borrowed from the Westborough Players Club as the show is set in the 1920s and had to be period-appropriate. Ellie Simmons, a WHS student, helped

with the costume design.

Students as well as parent volunteer Paul Foody executed the set design.

The production consisted of at least 50 students coming together for each show.

“We do theater for the entire community as well as the surrounding towns. We hope to be a bigger presence in the near future,” Slotnick said.

In March, Center Stage will be performing “Fiddler on the Roof.”
