Patricia J. Galli, 78
Shrewsbury – Patricia J. (Bouvier) Galli, a longtime resident of Shrewsbury, died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence in Worcester with her family by her side. She was 78.
Born April 28, 1935 to Arthur and Mary (McGrath) Bouvier, she attended school in Worcester. She worked as a switchboard operator for the Irving A. Glavin Regional Center for over 35 years.
While working at Glavin she was very involved with the union and held positions on its board and attendance at national conventions. Because of her love of her job and her dedication to the people and families of Glavin, she was drawn back to work part-time for years fully retiring in June 2013.
In later years, Pat’s love for spending time with others included trips to visit family across the country and locally with the Shrewsbury Senior Center and visits to casinos. She was a great cook and was known for her Italian cookies she gave out to family and friends at holidays. She was known to not pass a yard sale and enjoyed the outdoors, the Boston Red Sox, and her most precious cats, Twinkles and Twinkie.
She was married to her late husband, Domenic F. Galli, for over 45 years before his death in 2005. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her two brothers, Charles and James Bouvier. She leaves her children, James A. Galli of New York City and Michael F. Galli of Shrewsbury, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Patricia’s life by gathering for calling hours Wednesday, April 2, from 9 – 10:30 a.m., at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center, before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
