Westborough – Josephine A. “Jo” (Tomaso) Kane, 94, of Westborough, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at the Kindred Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Walter J. “Guy” Kane, who died in 2003.
Born in Milford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Teresa (Ferrante) Tomaso and was educated in Milford schools.
Josephine was employed at Thompson Steak House, Mass. Electric, and Bay State Abrasives prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with her close friends the Lightbodys. She especially cherished the time spent with friends and family.
Josephine is survived by her children, Charles E. Kane and his wife Denise of Merritt Island, Fla., Mary A. Emery and her husband Pat of Shrewsbury, Paul J. Kane and his wife Suzanne of Douglas, and David J. Kane and Steven F. Kane, both of Westborough; one sister, Theresa Petti and her husband Tony of Milford; a daughter-in-law, Maureen Kane of Upton; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Walter C. Kane; four brothers, Biagio, Charles, Frank and Alfred Tomaso; and two sisters, Marie Saccardo and Sarah Grillo.
The Kane family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Kindred Care and Home Hospice.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 12 p.m., in the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
