Obit Dick ListNorthborough – Richard “Dick” S.  List passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2016 at home after a courageous one-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80 years old. His devoted wife, Tonya M. (Spadafore), died in 2013.

He leaves behind two sons, Stephen List and his wife Carole of Warner Robins, Ga. and David List and his wife Christine of Northborough; was “papa” to grandchildren Nicole Dimuzio, Bryan List, Michael List and Jacob List, and two great-grandchildren, Christian Dimuzio and Mason List. He also leaves behind his sisters, Sara List of Texas and Jane Moorman Mays of Michigan; his brother, Mark List and his wife Cathy of Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews around the country.

Born in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of Stanley and Adeline (Wilhelm) List. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Dick spent his career with Hyde Manufacturing in Southbridge for 30 years. He retired as National Sales Director.

He volunteered his time with Game Board Buddies at Proctor Elementary School in Northborough. He also volunteered a great deal of time with the Northborough Senior Center prior to becoming too ill to do so. He was a member of the Dull Men’s Club in town where he met many good friends. He was on the board of directors for the Dismas House in Worcester. He was a long standing parishioner at St Rose of Lima Church.

Dick will be remembered as a kind and gentle man who cared for others.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Jan. 15, from 5-8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Dick’s funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial is private.
