Jeanne Alves, 76, of Hudson

Obit Jeanne AlvesHudson – If you were lucky enough to be born into the family of Jeanne (McMaster) Alves, you were blessed with unwavering support, unconditional love and a boot in the drawers if and when one was required. Jeanne could be counted on to tell it like it is. She was a master of the King’s English, having studied it on the streets of Somerville where she went to night school two days.

Jeanne was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Together with her husband, Francis A. Alves Sr., she dedicated her life to the care and raising of her family.

Jeanne is survived by Manny Alves, Terry (Alves) Bradt and her husband Greg, Francis Alves Jr. and his wife Noreen, Flora (Alves) Tracia and her husband David, Mark Alves and his wife Christine, Luke Alves and his wife Ann, and Kelly (Alves) DiGeronimo and her husband Robert, and her house apes, Kyle, Gregory, Zach, Joshua, Samantha, Nathaniel, Cassandra, Alexis, Jessica, Dominic, Justin, Evan, Elijah and Brendan, as well as her sister, AnnMarie Duschen, and her sister-in-law, Jean McMasters.

Jeanne was born in 1940 to William F. and Margaret (Thompson) McMasters. She enjoyed playing cards, family vacations down the Cape and movies that were schmaltzy, but cute. She made a mean potato salad, and her sauce and meatballs, although often attempted by many, cannot be duplicated.

Jeanne is truly cherished by all that knew her. Because she gave love so freely, her spirit will live on in all those that she loved. Heaven gained an angel on Feb 5, 2016.

A private service will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jeanne may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
