‘What Was the Gilded Age?’ lecture at Tatnuck Booksellers

Westborough – The Westborough Historical Society and the Westborough Civic Club will hold a lecture, “What Was the Gilded Age? (Are We in Another One Now?)” Monday, Feb. 29, at 7 p.m. at Tatnuck Booksellers, 18 Lyman St., Westborough. History Professor Edward T. O’Donnell from the College of the Holy Cross will examine this first Gilded Age and the key issues it raised and also take a look at how out of its turmoil the U.S. entered a period (The Progressive Era) marked by wide-ranging reform movements. He’ll also offer a comparison between the first Gilded Age and our current situation.
