Obit Raymond Curley Jr.Hudson – Raymond Joseph Curley Jr., dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to all, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 at the age of 84.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Curley, the love of his life, along with his sons, Gerry, Gene, Ray, and Tom, their spouses; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen, and son, James Michael.

Ray graduated from Hudson High in 1949 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He attended Northeastern University and the Boston Conservatory of Music and was a talented piano player.

In 1952, Ray joined his father’s plumbing company (R.J. Curley and Sons Plumbing and Heating) which is celebrating its 96th year in business and includes four generations. He served for many years on the board of the Hudson Savings Bank. Over a 40-year period, Ray served on the executive board and was a Corporator, director and trustee for the bank.

Ray was a member of the Hudson Rotary Club for over 40 years where he served as president. He was gifted with the extraordinary ability to make others smile and will always be remembered for his kind heart and love of family.

It would be Ray’s request that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to a scholarship fund for children of Hudson at the Boys and Girls Club of Hudson. Donations can be sent to The Boys and Girls Club, 169 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752.

Family and friends are all encouraged to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery of Hudson. There are no calling hours or services at the funeral home.
