Obit Doris CochranShrewsbury – Doris (Westwood) Cochran, 100, of Shrewsbury, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Noah and Florence (Clark) Westwood. She graduated from Commerce High School, and after raising her family she worked at Guaranty Bank for over 20 years, retiring in 1989.

Doris was predeceased by her husband, Frederick W. Cochran, who died in 1963, and her infant daughter in 1948.

She leaves her four loving children, David W. Cochran and his wife Beverly of Grafton, Cynthia J. Casillo and her husband John of Shrewsbury, Dianne D. Carpenter of Jefferson, and Robert W. Cochran and his wife Sandra of Dover, N.H.; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Patricia, Nathan, Derek, Ryan, Taryn, Marissa, Alyson, Matthew, and Brittany; 13 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Evan, Ryan, Madison, Jack, Brett, Elise, Benjamin, Anna, John, Mia, Isabella, and Roan; and two nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by five brothers, Ralph, Albert, Harry, Herbert, and Kenneth Westwood.

Doris was an avid reader and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles on a daily basis. She also loved clothes shopping and was a fashionista.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Doris’s family Thursday, Sept. 15, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A prayer service celebrating Doris’s life will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glen Valley Cemetery of Barre.
