Shrewsbury – The third annual Duck Dash 5K Run/Walk for Camp Wonder will be held Saturday, June 10, at 9 a.m. at Sherwood Middle School, 28 Sherwood Ave. The race is organized by 2016 Shrewsbury High School graduate track alumnus Patricia Egan.
Camp Wonder is a camp for children with chronic or life threatening skin diseases. Egan, who has a chronic skin condition, attended Camp Wonder as a camper for 10 years. She has been a counselor for the past two years.
“I want to give back to the camp that has given me unconditional encouragement and taught me so much about feeling compassion for others,” Egan said. “All proceeds from the Duck Dash will go directly to Camp Wonder. The kids at Camp Wonder are truly an inspiration to me.”
The entry fee is $20 for registrations received before Thursday, June 1. Pre-race bib pickup will be at Marathon Sports, 50 Boston Turnpike (White City), Shrewsbury Friday, June 9.
