Westborough – The Westborough Community Land Trust will hold two nature walks Sunday, Oct. 15, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The Thoreau Nature Writing Walk, co-sponsored by the Westborough Public Library, explores the life and writing techniques of Henry David Thoreau, born 200 years ago this year. Author and educator Corinne H. Smith leads participants in doing their own nature observations and writing near Gilmore Pond, in a walk of less than one mile on easy terrain. For this walk, preregistration through the library is required, and participation is limited to 15 adults.

On the second walk, a longer two-hour hike, enjoy fall colors near Gilmore Pond, along Jackstraw Brook, and into the Bowman West reservation. No preregistration is needed for the longer hike. Both hikes meet at the Gilmore Pond entrance on Quick Farm Road.
