Rosemarie Brophy, 80, of HudsonHudson – Mrs. Rosemarie Brophy of Hudson died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 after a long illness. She was the wife of Thomas Brophy for 60 years.

Born in Waltham, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Fantucchio) Graceffa, she was a graduate of Waltham High School, class of 1955, and had lived in Hudson since 1959.

In addition to her husband, she leaves four sons, Michael and his wife Nancy of Hudson, Christopher and his wife Linda of Uxbridge, Paul and his wife Marjorie of Newtonville, and Andrew of Penfield, N.Y. She also leaves six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Peter and John of Waltham, and many aunts and uncles, including Clara Graceffa.

She belonged to St. Michael’s Parish, and was a member and soloist of its choir for 40 years. She was also a member of the Northboro Area Community Chorus, Symphony Pro Musica Chorus, Berkshire Choral Institute Chorus and Worcester Master Singers. A member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, she served as Regent and District Deputy. She was a member of the Hudson Housing Authority. Her work on the Bi-Centennial Committee led her to be named Enterprising Woman of the Month by the News Enterprise Newspaper.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Sept. 29, from 4-7 p.m., at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 30, at 9 a.m., at St. Michael’s Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, followed by final committal services at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coleman House Activity Fund of Northboro the JHC Hospice.
