Hudson – Filomena P. Chaves, 84, died Thursday June 9, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, at her residence in Hudson.
Born in Santa Maria, the Azores of Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Antonia C. (Monteiro) Puim. She was raised and resided in Santa Maria until moving to Hudson 46 years ago.
Mrs. Chaves cherished her family, especially her many nieces and nephews she cared for throughout her life. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson and member of the Hudson Portuguese Club.
She is survived by her sister, Maria Andrade of Hudson, and her many nieces, nephews and friends. She was the sister of the late Antonia, Antonio, Manuel, Jose, Maria P. and Maria.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday June 13, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson.
