Worcester – Charles A. D”Onofrio, 94, passed away Thursday Aug. 4, Charles A. D”Onofrio, 942011, in Saint Vincent Hospital.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 56 years, Rita “Dorothy” (Urso) D”Onofrio; a son, Michael C. D”Onofrio and his wife Joan of Marlborough; a daughter, Rosemary Snow of Worcester; a sister, Florence Marini of Sterling; five grandchildren, Jesse and Rachel Snow of Worcester; and Luke, Bret and Cole D”Onofrio of Marlborough; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Victor and Francis “Mike” D”Onofrio, and by a sister, Mary Sangianario.

Born in Clinton, the son of Michelangelo and Agnes (Damiani) D”Onofrio, ItalianCharles A. D”Onofrio, 94 immigrants from Abruzzi. He served his nation proudly in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Mr. D”Onofrio was an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as a licensed pilot for many years. He was also an accomplished musician, classically trained in saxophone, clarinet, and violin. He retired from the United States Post Office in 1985. He had also worked as a barber and licensed taxidermist. He was a parishoner of Saint Christopher Church.

Funeral services were held Aug. at the Mercadnate Funeral Home & Chapel of Worcester, with a Mass in Saint Christopher Church of Worcester and interment at Saint John's Cemetery in Worcester.
