Southborough – William L. Stoddard Jr., 75, formerly of Framingham, died at his home Friday, Sept. 23, 2011. He was the husband of Margaret P. (Ferrari) Stoddard for the past 43 years and the son of the late William L. and Louise V. (Duseau) Stoddard.
Mr. Stoddard was a 1954 graduate of Framingham High School and was an Air Force veteran, serving form 1954 to 1958. He was a Staff Sergeant and received the “Airman of the Month” award.
He owned and operated R.M. Davis & Son for 40 years and was known for his quality workmanship and expertise in the tinsmith field. He was an active member of the Middlesex Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A. M. of Framingham for over 50 years, and served several times as Master, District Deputy and several other capacities. He was known as the “answer man” both in Lodge and to everyone else who knew him. His knowledge of Masonic history and procedures was invaluable to his fellow Masons. In addition, he was also a member of the Shriners, Scottish Rite, the Framingham Temple Association and the Framingham Lodge of Elks.
Besides his wife he leaves his children, Lori Andrews and husband Scott of E. Douglas and Mark Stoddard of Worcester; his stepchildren, Lynann Kendall of Southborough and Michael J. Graves and wife Sara of Shrewsbury; a brother, James B. Stoddard and wife Sandra of Framingham; two sisters, Gayle Benedict and husband John of Ashland and Margaret J. Stoddard and Ronald Cavatorta of Ashland; six grandchildren, Thomas Andrews, Kathryn, Sara and Sam Kendall, and Matthew and Emily Graves; several cousins; and a nephew and several nieces. He was predeceased by Lynann's husband, Christopher Kendall.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Southborough Rural Cemetery on Cordaville Road (Route 85).
