Richard J. Fagan, 83Northborough – Richard J. (Dick) Fagan, 83, of South Dennis and formerly of Belmont, died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011 with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Acheson) and son of the late Augustine and Mary Ellen (Williams) of Arlington.

He was the loving father of Caren Leedom and her husband Guy of Duxbury, Jayne Grieco and her husband Ralph of Southborough, Rick Fagan and his wife Paula of Southborough, and Tracy Duffy and her husband Arthur of Northborough; beloved grandfather of Ryan, Kevin and Dana Grieco, Katie and Ricky Fagan, and Connor and Baelyn Duffy; and brother of the late Marie Doherty and her husband Frank, Peg Guzzo and her husband Jim, Norma Fenzel and her husband Fred, James and his wife Pat, the late Lolly O”Brien and her husband Joe, Gus and his wife Carmel, Larry and his wife Barbara, Claire Cahill and her husband Jack, and Linda Laurendeau. He was the uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Fagan served in the Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948, and later graduated from University of New Hampshire and Northeastern University with a bachelor's and a master's degree in civil engineering. He worked for Raytheon Company for over 30 years in the Missiles Systems division before retiring to Cape Cod, where he worked part-time as a realtor.

He was an accomplished carpenter, enjoyed golfing and reading, and most of all, loved spending time with family and friends.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Oct. 28, from 3 to 7 p.m., in the Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. A funeral Mass with Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
