FEMA to run nationwide Emergency Alert test today at 2 p.m.

Region – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be conducting the first ever nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS) test today, Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m., Eastern Standard Time. That means every single radio and television station across the country will be broadcasting the familiar “this is only a test” message at that time.

The test will be run in conjunction with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). For more information, go to http://www.fema.gov/emergency/ipaws/eas_info.shtm.
