Animal Shelter Inc. of Sterling competing to win a $50,000 grantSterling – The Animal Shelter Inc. located in Sterling is looking for help from the community to win a $50,000 grant from Pepsi's “Refresh Everything Program,” the shelter hopes to win the money in order to renovate and upgrade their shelter facilities.

“Our shelter is over 30 years old and there are so many things we's love to fix, upgrade and renovate to allow our homeless furry friends a better and more comfy setting,” stated Leigh Grady, Executive Director.

“100 percent of the money coming in to the shelter cares for the general day-to-day operations and care of the animals, (we are not funded by the city, state or town or any other organization/s)…but it doesn's leave anything to upgrade and renovate our aging facility – and we could really use a lot of miscellaneous upgrades, renovations and improvements,” Grady continued.

The Pepsi grant program might just help non-profit organizations such as the shelter achieve their goals.

“For all those pet lovers, owners, supporters and caring folks who love animals, we are requesting you take a minute out of your day and click on the Pepsi site, www.refresheverything.com/sterlingshelter, and cast your vote daily to help our shelter help more animals,” Grady added. “A grant like this could go a LONG way and do so much for so many pets for so many years to come.”

The shelter encourages the community to vote daily and to spread the word to others, encouraging them to vote as well. The community can really help the shelter make a difference for the thousands of animals they care for each year.
