Marlborough service group to host information sessionsMarlborough – Friends In Service Helping (FISH)) of Marlborough is hosting several Information & Coffee sessions for interested volunteers at the Marlborough Senior Center, 250 Main St.

F.I.S.H. of Marlborough is a volunteer service that transports Marlborough residents to medical appointments. There are two positions that need volunteers – coordinators and drivers. Both positions allow flexibility to fit easily into a volunteer's calendar.

Coordinators work to link people needing rides with a driver from a list of all available volunteer drivers. This is an opportunity for those who prefer to work in their own home. The coordinator uses his/her phone and/or computer to do the work.

Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles and can specify in advance which days and hours they are available, as well as the distances they prefer to drive. Typically a driver will transport a client once every three or four weeks. A driver is never under an obligation to accept an assignment.

Those who cannot attend the Information & Coffee sessions, but would like more information, can call 508-485-6492, ext. 11 and leave their contact information.
