Community asked to “Be a Santa to a Senior” Nov. 21 through Dec. 9Northborough – “I thought Christmas was for children… I was not expecting the day to be special for me…I was so moved to be remembered…” These were the sentiments of one area Senior when she opened her door to the Outreach Worker from the Northborough Senior Center to receive a holiday gift.

This year the Northborough Council on Aging, in conjunction with Central One Federal Credit Union of Northborough and Home Instead Senior Care, will be coordinating another gift drive for area seniors who, otherwise, might not be remembered during the holidays.

The area public is asked to help once again. On Monday, Nov. 21, the Central One Federal Credit Union at 148 Main St. in Northborough will host a holiday tree containing “ornament” tags. Each tag contains the name of an item needed by an area senior. Please select a tag and return the unwrapped item with the tag to the bank by Friday, Dec. 9.

The Council on Aging will transported the gifts to the Northborough Senior Center where, Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., a gift wrapping party will occur.

Please “Be a Santa to a Senior” by visiting the bank to select a tag from Nov. 21 through Dec. 9, and attending the wrapping party Dec. 13.
