Cosmo A. Capobianco, 91

Marlborough – Cosmo A. Capobianco, 91, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at Marlborough Hills HealthCare Center.

Born in Watertown, he was the son of the late Antonio and Emanuele (Iannizzi) Capobianco and the husband of Dorothy (Perry) Capobianco of Marlborough. The couple just celebrated the 71st wedding anniversary. A graduate of Watertown High School, he also took several courses at Northeastern University and MIT. He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S.N.R. during World War II, as well as the Korean War.

Mr. Capobianco was a gifted craftsman who for many years had been employed at Atlantic PreHung Door inW. Concord, retiring in 1985. A member of the DAV in Marlborough, he enjoyed the company of his family, playing cards with his friends, bowling with the former St. Matthias Bowling League and working in his large vegetable garden.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Gary Capobianco of Marlborough; his daughter, Elaine Waldron of Marlborough; his sisters, Rose Moriarty of Newton, Eleanor Ricci of Waltham and Regina Pagliarani of Watertown; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Richard A. Capobianco and Geraldine Comerford.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
