Northborough – Lorraine C. (White) Fortin, 88, died peacefully at her home Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Fortin who died in 2010, in Hillsboro, Oregon..
She was the loving mother of Robert A. Fortin and his wife Elaine of Idaho, Barbara J. Fortin of Malden, Richard J. Fortin of Northborough and Donna M. (Gravelle) Schleyer of Northborough; grandmother of: Michael Pierce, Michelle (Pierce) Cantrell, Julie (Pierce) Ryan, Robin (Pierce) Herndon, Deirdre (Pierce) McKinley, Amy (Fortin) Carr, Brian Fortin, Peter Fortin Christopher Fortin, Kurt Schleyer and Keith Schleyer; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Joan Pierce, grandmother of the late Onyx Fortin.and sister of the late Richard White and Eleanor Papagno.
Born in Marlborough, daughter of the late Henry J. and Hazel B. (Newton) White, she was educated in the Marlborough school system. She retired in 1985 from Emerson Hospital in Concord where she was an admitting clerk for many years.
Following cremation a funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan.12, at 11 a.m., in the John P. Rowe Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Marlborough. Burial will be at a later date in Valley Memorial Park, Hillsboro, Oregon.
