Marlborough – Carole Sue (Nicholls) Ricciuti, 74, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Born on Jan. 12, 1937 in Middlebourne, West Virginia, she found enjoyment in all she did in life. She had wonderful, caring, friendships; a fabulous sense of humor, regardless of the situation; was known for her beautiful garden; was active in her community; and set a superior example of a loving, devoted, mother and grandmother.

As an employee for the City of Marlborough since 1979, Mrs. Ricciuti showed a strong commitment to her job. She began in the public school system moving to the Marlborough Police Department in 1990, where she served as Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police until the time of her death.

She is survived by her sons, James Scott Ricciuti and his partner Maro Eremyan of Marlborough and Christopher R. Ricciuti and his wife Patricia of Sturbridge; her daughter, Lisa Carman and her husband Bill of Sandown, N.H.; and her grandchildren, Joe, Elijah, Gaelan and Georgia Carman and Jack Ricciuti.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. Visiting hrs.will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
