Region – Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, a private nonprofit association that provides support, prevention, education, and advocacy for individuals with brain injury and their families, has announced that the 31st Annual Brain Injury Conference will be held Thursday, March 29, from 7 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center will be hosting the conference.
Professionals, providers, caregivers, families, and survivors of brain injury are invited to attend. CEUs are being offered in more than a dozen disciplines, including case management, counseling, and nursing. The conference is co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, Braintree & New England Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Wingate Healthcare.
Learn up-to-date information on community resources and approaches to treating individuals with brain injury. The conference will include a dozen Interactive workshops on such topics as the use of iPads and iPhones in speech, language and cognitive therapies; functional use of Kinesio Taping after a brain injury; ABI waivers: supporting and maintaining successful transitions; animal facilitated therapy; current challenges in neuro-rehabilitation: psychopharmacology and behavior; and future planning. Exhibitor booths and posters related to brain injury resources and research will be part of the event, too.
