What are some of your earliest memories playing basketball?
“My earliest memories are playing basketball with my dad and two older brothers, in the front yard. Every day, all summer.”
You also play football and volleyball; what's your favorite sport to play/watch?
“My favorite sport to play is basketball, and I like watching college basketball.”
Which of your four years at MHS have been your most memorable?
“This past season has been the most memorable personally, because I really started to figure out the game of basketball.”
Throughout your young athletic career, which coach has meant the most to your success?
“My current coach, Coach Ilya [Nicholas] has helped me a lot. He has shared his knowledge of the game with me, and helped me become the player I am today.”
Which teammate has pushed you the most to succeed?
“I honestly can's say just one teammate, but if I had to, the number one would be Mike Tirpak. Mike worked out with me all off-season in the weight room, and on the court, but it was every single one of my teammates, not just him.”
Who is your favorite professional basketball team/player?
“My favorite NBA team is the Oklahoma City Thunder. They are a young team who are coming together right now, and they are learning how to win games. My favorite player is Kevin Durant. He's the youngest scoring champion, and he has an unbelievable work ethic. He's always out two hours before practice shooting, and he stays after practice shooting, so he is definitely a player to look up to.”
Which award or special recognition have you received that is particularly special to you?
“Being selected to this year's all-star team was very special.”
What are your plans for next year?
“I want to attend Cheshire Academy next year as a post-graduate, and my number-one college choice would be BYU, but I's open to other schools as well.”
