Hudson – Louise (Costa) Gogolos, 76, died Saturday, April 28, 2012. Formerly of Newton, Marlborough, Centerville, and recently Hudson, she died peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by her closest loving family and friends.
She was the wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Gogolos and leaves her cherished daughters, Andrea Gogolos of Watertown and Tracey Rosado of Milford. She was the beloved Mimi to granddaughter Savanna Rosado; godmother to Linda Devereaux and Christopher Garahan; and doting aunt to Dr. Kimberly Crocker Crowther and many nieces and nephews. She is also urvived by her sisters, Catherine Keegan of Newton and Dorothy Hamill of Nashua, N.H., and her sisters-in-law, Molly, Anna, and Betty Costa, Mary Limberakis, Hope August, and Helen Gogolos. She was pre-deceased by brothers John, Nicholas, Louis, Leo, Joseph, Raymond and Edward Costa and sisters Jeannette Ligor and Elvira Costa.
A graduate of Newton High, class of 1954, and Mansfield Beauty Academy, she formerly owned salons in Newton Center and Sudbury, and retired from former Digital Equipment Corporation.
A caring friend to many, Mrs. Gogolos was active in her community. She was a member of Daughters of Penolope, Medon Chapter, a volunteer for election night polling stations, and an enthusiastic participant of the Newton High School Class of 54 Reunion Committee and of Marlborough Senior Center, where she enjoyed socializing and attending yoga class with the girls.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3, at 9:30 a.m., from the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St. (Route 16), West Newton, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington St., Newton. Visiting hours are Wednesday, May 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in the Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne will take place Friday, May 4, at 11:15 a.m.
