Shrewsbury – Curtis Belmonte, the son of Bob and Robin Belmonte, of Shrewsbury, and the grandson of Brad and Judy Nickerson, of Southborough, and Lillian Belmonte, of Shrewsbury, has been accepted into Princeton University. He is the first student ever from Shrewsbury High School and Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science to be accepted to Princeton.

Belmonte, 18, attended Shrewsbury High School for his freshman and sophomore years and then was accepted into the Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science in Worcester, which he has attended his junior and senior years. Recently, he was named a Charles O. Thompson scholar by Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).

He will be majoring in computer science.

Belmonte was also accepted by CalTech, Brown, Cornell, Boston University and Northeastern University.
