Pink flamingos migrating to Westborough for Girl Scout fundraiserWestborough – Beginning in August, a rare pink flamingo migration will come to Westborough with the help of Senior Girl Scout Troop 30635. You have the opportunity to have the flock gather on your lawn or a friend's lawn to help celebrate a special event, such as a birthday, anniversary, or retirement, or just to have fun.

Troop 30635 is raising funds for their trip to Costa Rica in April 2013, and will conduct its first annual Pink Flamingo Fundraiser in a few short weeks. Under the cover of darkness, the flock will “land” and help with your celebration for 24 hours, at which point they will “fly away,” under the cover of darkness, of course. For $10 (12 flamingos) or $20 (24), you can flock family and friends to help them celebrate that special occasion. For an additional $10, the troop will make a sign to shout out a message to your “flockee.” If you aren's interested in seeing a flock of flamingos on your lawn, you may buy “Insurance for the Prevention of Large Pink Birds” for only $10.

To schedule a date to flock your special someone, to purchase insurance, or for more information, contact Julie Baldwin at 508-366-9463 or email the troop at [email protected].
