Hudson – Lydia (Ferreira) Garcia, 88, of Hudson, died Saturday, Sept. 1,2012 at River Terrace Healthcare in Lancaster. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis P. Garcia.
Lydia was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Jose and Belizanda (Reis) Ferreira. She was a lifelong resident of Hudson where she attended local schools and graduated from Hudson High School. She was employed as an Executive Secretary by the Raytheon Co. for 30 plus years in Wayland and Sudbury until her retirement. She also assisted in the daily operations of her father's business, the former Lisbon Club in Hudson for many years. Lydia was a member of the former Christ the King Parish in Hudson and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Lydia was the sister of the late Irene Calvao, and is survived by Irene's children of whom she loved and cared for throughout their lives as her own children, her niece, Lisa (Calvao) Joyce of Hudson; two nephews, Clifford Calvao of Northboro, Steven Calvao of Hudson and was predeceased by her niece Cynthia (Calvao) Almada. She also leaves her nephew, William Marrama of Hudson and her great nieces and great nephews.
Family and friends may attend a calling hour Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson
