Obit Mildred RondeauShrewsbury – Mildred R. Rondeau, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing Facility in Northborough with her family by her side. She was 95.

On Oct. 11, 1918, Mildred was born in Worcester to Harry L. and Mildred F. (Scott) Hultquist. She grew up in Worcester, attending South High School, and was a resident of Shrewsbury since 1948 and shared time at their home in Tampa, Fla.

She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Worcester. Her interests included playing cards, traveling, listening to music from the “Big Band Era,” especially Ella Fitzgerald and Pearl Bailey, and time spent with family and friends.

In heaven Mildred joins her husband of 48 years, Edmond J., who died in 1986; her parents, Harry and Mildred; her brothers, Harry Jr. and Ken Hultquist; and a longtime companion of 22 years, Melzar Cole.

She leaves her children, Diane C. Little and her husband, Allyn, of Shrewsbury and Edmond R. Rondeau and his wife, Carlene, of Tampa, Fla.; her brother, Edwin Hultquist and his wife, Ruth, of Worcester; a daughter-in-law, Therese Hultquist; her three grandchildren, Gregory A. Rondeau of Tampa, Michael Little and his wife, Liz, of Shrewsbury, and Scott Little and his wife, Kerry, of Westfield; six great-grandchildren, Dane Seckar, Zachary Rondeau, Cole, Sydney, Kaleigh, and Emily Little; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Mildred's life by gathering for her funeral service Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m., at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center. The Rev. Thomas R. McKibbens will officiate. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
