Region – A number of local organizations are holding recycling and collection events Saturday, April 5.
Shrewsbury – An electronics and clothing recycle day will take place from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Oak Middle School, 45 Oak St.? For more information, visit www.shrewsbury-ma.gov.
Northborough – St. Rose of Lima Young Neighbors in Action will hold an electronic equipment and home appliance recycling/collection day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St. Items to be collected include large and small home appliances, washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, microwave and toaster ovens, dehumidifiers, televisions and more. A small fee will be charged.
Marlborough – An accessories and clothing giveaway will be held at St. Stephen Church, 537 Bolton St., from 2 – 3 p.m. There will be a selection of gently used clothing for men, women, babies and children, as well as accessories such as shoes and belts, at no cost. Bring your own bag or have one provided for you.
Marlborough – The Marlborough Rotary Club will collect unwanted computers, electronics, appliances and more at its Community Recycling Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 1LT Charles W. Whitcomb Middle School, 25 Union St.? All items, except televisions and computer monitors, are $30 per carload. Televisions are $.75 per pound and monitors are $15 each. For those who have only one or two items for disposal, there will be a reduced, single-item fee.

Northborough – The Louise Houle Annual Town Cleanup will be held Saturday, April 26 from 7:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Rain date is Sunday, April 27).
The event is sponsored by the Northborough Community Affairs Committee, Northborough Women's Club, and Knights of Columbus (St. Augustine Council).
Registration and passing out of trash bags and gloves will be at the Robert E. Melican School starting at 7:45 a.m. to 10 a.m.? Cleanup will be from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.? A cookout will follow for all volunteers from 12:15 – 1:30 p.m. at the Ellsworth/McAfee Field Pavilion on South Street.

Westborough ? The town's annual Earth Day cleanup will be held Saturday, April 26. The event is sponsored by the Westborough community Land Trust.
