Grafton-? Grafton Police Normand A. Crepeau, Jr? released this statement regarding a motor vehicle accident which killed a member of the Grafton Fire Department,? Steven Magliaro, who was 48.
On Monday, July 14, 2014, at about 10:45 pm, members of the Grafton Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of 141 Worcester St. in regards to several 911 calls for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. MedStar Ambulance was also dispatched.
On their arrival, officers found that two vehicles were involved in a collision at that location. Both vehicles a black Honda Civic and a white Chrysler Sebring were heavily damaged. The operator of the Honda, later identified as Javier Ocasio-Serrano (age 21), was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated by Grafton Fire Department personnel. The operator of the Chrysler, later identified as Steven Magliaro (age 48), was found lying outside his vehicle with serious injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Both operators were examined at the scene by MedStar Ambulance personnel and then transported to U Mass Medical Center. Preliminary investigation indicated that the Chrysler was traveling north on Worcester St. when it was involved in a collision with the Honda, traveling south on Worcester St. The collision occurred in the southbound lane.
On Thursday, July 17th, Grafton Police received notification that Mr. Magliaro had passed away at U Mass Medical Center. The Grafton Police Department is continuing its investigation of the crash with the assistance of the Central MA Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Collision Reconstruction Team and the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.
