Marlborough – Boston Biomedical Associates (BBA) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 18 to celebrate its recent move to its new headquarters in Marlborough. The company, which had been located in Northborough, moved its operations to a 20,000-square-foot office at 100 Crowley Drive, located across from Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School. Helping to welcome the company to the city was Marlborough Mayor Arthur Vigeant and members of the Marlborough City Council, Marlborough Chamber of Commerce and Marlborough Economic Development Corporation.
BBA is a product development consultancy and full-service contract research organization (CRO) serving the medical device and bio-pharmaceutical industries. The company was founded in 2000 by Lauren Baker, PhD, PE.
Baker noted that when she started the company there were only four employees sharing a small office. Now they have 50 employees and are still growing.
“That growth is part of the reason we moved,” she said. “We have actually doubled the space we had in Northborough. This new location, right near routes 495 and 290, is also a plus. It’s so easily accessible.”
Baker noted that she was also excited her company was part of a growing community of bio-tech companies choosing to locate in Marlborough, such as Boston Scientific and Quest Diagnostics. She also had praise for city officials.
“They were great to work with,” she said. “This is a wonderful time to be in this city. It’s exciting to be here and be part of this growth.”
