Northborough – Over two hundred walkers and runners did not let snowy conditions stop them from participating in the seventh annual Thanksgiving Day 5k Turkey Trot held Nov. 27. The annual event, organized by Northborough residents Rita Matraia and Maggie Kosovsky, raised $5,500 this year for the Northborough Food Pantry.
“It was a huge success! We more than doubled last year’s donations of $2,300,” Matraia said. “We had 240 registered and about 5 inches of snow!”
Winners of the different age groups were:
Females 6-12: Ainslee Rice; 13 – 18: Gretchen Forbush; 19 – 29: Rachel Friedman; 30 – 45: Susan Willwerth and 46 +: Helly Giles.
Males 6-12: Ben Guggina; 13 – 18: Mark Howells; 19 – 29; Nick Hogan; 30 – 45: Neil Rice; and 46+: Rich Toronto.
