Hudson – The Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks boys’ basketball team defeated the Hudson High School Hawks 59-39 in a game played Dec. 30.
Hudson jumped out to an early 16-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. Algonquin fought back to take a slim 23-21 lead into halftime. The Tomahawks dominated the second half, scoring 36 points to the Hawks’ 18.
Joao Mendes was Hudson’s top scorer, with 12 points. Jaimyn Payne contributed 9 points and Kyle Sullivan had 7.
Joe Egizi and Jason Truax scored 12 points each for Algonquin. Jack Clark made three 3-point shots and scored 11 points, and Joe Wallace contributed 10 points.
