Hudson – Joan P. (Glynn) Salvucci, 81, of Hudson, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 at Marlborough Hospital. She leaves her beloved husband of 63 years, Richard T. Salvucci of Hudson.

Joan was born and raised in Brighton, daughter of the late Frank and Nora (Barnes) Glynn. She was employed as a switchboard operator by New England Telephone Company for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Hudson Senior Center, Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson, and the Wayside Racquet Club in Marlborough. She looked forward to swimming at the Racquet Club frequently with friends who were fondly known as the “Mermaids.” She, along with her husband Richard, also enjoyed tutoring and reading to the second grade class at the Joseph L. Mulready Elementary School.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Paul Salvucci and his wife Beverly of Uxbridge, and her daughter, Karen Salvucci-Ebelen of Georgia, and was predeceased by her son, Mark Salvucci, and daughter, Donna Levy. She is also survived by Mark’s wife, Maya Salvucci-Vannatta of California; her four loving grandchildren, Jack and Crystal Levy, Zabrina Krepps, and Nicolas Salvucci; 11 step-grandchildren; five great-step-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marylynn Kimball.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, at 12 p.m., in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home (www.tighehamilton.com).
