The holiday decorations are tucked away for another year and a sense of order has been restored to our homes. The thing is, now our homes feel bare and lifeless. It’s time for a winter warm up.
Tip #1 – Change up your room a bit
Now is the perfect opportunity to change the layout of your furniture. Change up the arrangement. Replace a coffee table with a big ottoman. With cold days ahead, flank the fireplace with cozy chairs to create a warm and inviting space. Curl up and stay awhile.
Tip #2 – Cozy blankets!
Add a big basket of cozy blankets to your room; it adds a splash of color and texture as well as keeping you and your guests toasty on those chilly nights. Don’t forget to put extra blankets in your guest room.
Tip #3 – A fresh coat of paint
There is nothing like a fresh coat of paint to refresh a room. Light blue, cream and peach tones are great colors that inspire. These warm colors can transform an entire room.
Tip #4 – Fresh flowers
You can find many varieties of flowers, even in winter. Nothing brightens up a room faster than fresh flowers. Spring may be months away but we can add some spring happiness with flowers from any local flower shop.
Tip#5 – Redistribute your art and accessories
Gather all of your accessories, lamps, throw pillows and art and put them all in one place. Take a look at all of these treasures and find new ways to display them. Group the items differently and create new ways to showcase these items. You will be surprised how things look fresh and new when partnered in different locations.
