Obit Blair GaulinNorthborough – Blair J. Gaulin, 77, of Northborough, formerly of Marlborough, died peacefully Tuesday, April 7, 2015, with his wife at his side, in hospice care at Beaumont Nursing and Skilled Rehabilitation Center of Westborough.

Born June 17, 1937 in Worcester, he was the youngest son of the late Alfred J. and Valerie (Phaneuf) Gaulin. He was the husband of Carol Ann (Pentes) Gaulin of Northborough, to whom he had been married for the past 50 years.

He was a distinguished manager and district manager for Friendly’s Ice Cream for many years.

Blair was a man of the earth who loved life. Raised on an apple orchard in Hudson, he loved gardening and raising beautiful orchids. Hi colorful and prolific orchids were famous in the neighborhood and he took pride in his heirloom tomatoes. He loved to cook jams and jellies, specialty cookies, and breads. He loved his family and enjoyed the times spent at their vacation home in N. Conway, N.H.

Besides his wife, his is survived by his sons, Scott Gaulin and daughter-in-law Kristin of Millbury and Brian Gaulin and daughter-in-law Donna of Randolph, Vt., his grandchildren, Adam Gaulin and Angelica Blair Gaulin; his siblings, Lorraine Garceau and her husband Gus of Venice, Fla., Wilfred Gaulin of Yuma, Ariz., Norman Gaulin and his wife Shirley of Marlborough, and Ronald Gaulin and his wife Lynda of Lancaster; his sister-in-law, Mary Jane LeBlanc of Northborough; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, April 10, from 5-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 11, at 10 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 W. Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow at Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson.
