NorthboroughWhen someone decides to commit to a healthier lifestyle, Luisa Cloutier and her team at Fitness Together are there to help.
The Northborough training studio is offering personal and semi-private training through a variety of exercise programs that include weight training, nutritional counseling and cardio.
Cloutier, president of the studio, says “We have a proven system that works and guarantees results when the client follows the program, which is specifically customized for their fitness level and health needs.”
The studio’s focus is the client and serving the needs of each individual. However, each client needs a high-level of commitment to gain the desired results.
“People have to be ready to do this and commit to the process,” she said. “Usually we see someone who has tried diets and big gyms without achieving the results they want. We offer a very structured program, provide accountability and motivation and teach them to put themselves first.”
Typically, clients will train three-to-five sessions per week, with each session generally 45-minutes of training plus warmup and extra time for cardio. Cloutier’s Fitness Together studio features four individual training studios where clients work one-on-one with a trainer, and an additional are for cardio.
Nutrition Together, Fitness Together’s proprietary nutritional program, is an integral part of the process and offers education and accountability to keep clients nutrition aligned with their training. Learning the importance of nutrition along with personalized training sessions provides truly amazing results.
Cardio Together offers a customized cardio prescription that combines fartlek, interval and tempo workouts with a focus on exercise frequency, intensity, duration and progression to achieve maximum results.
“We monitor and check each client’s progress within our programs to ensure the results are being obtained,” Cloutier said. Clients tend to see results almost immediately, which pushes them to continue in reaching their health and wellness goals.”
The length of time people spend in the program depends on the goals they are trying to reach, she noted. “Some spend six to 12 months, and when they have achieved their goal, they decide whether they want to continue.” Some, she added, have been coming for years.
Dr. Janet Slota, a physician with Reliant Medical Care, has been working with the Fitness Together team for two years. “I had a lot of weight I had to lose. I was stuck after losing about 20 pounds on my own, but I lost another 80 pounds in 15 months at Fitness Together Northborough. It became part of my life in a good way. Going there, losing the weight and getting fit has made a huge difference in my life. You cannot do it by yourself and get the same results. The nutrition part is important. Once you start eating a balanced diet, you can’t go back.”
Cloutier and her late husband, Brandon Cloutier, opened the Northborough studio 10 years ago. Brandon, a former Marine, had been working as a trainer and decided to start his own training business, choosing the Fitness Together franchise. Luisa, who had been in banking, joined him, handling much of the business side, and she became a trainer as well.
“We wanted to help people become healthy,” she said. After her husband’s death 18 months ago, she made the commitment to continue the business, with the support of the studio’s staff. “I love to change people’s lives. This is not a job for me, this is a mission.”
