Candidate papers now available for Westborough Town Election

Westborough – Westborough’s annual Town Election will take place Tuesday, March 1. Those who wish to seek elected office in the town should contact Town Clerk Wendy Mickel in person at the Town Hall, 34 W. Main St.

Candidates may take out papers beginning Dec. 1 in the Town Clerk’s office.

Two seats are open on the Board of Selectmen. Incumbents Lydia Goldblatt and Timothy Dodd will not seek re-election.

Other positions include:

PLANNING BOARD (five-year term) – Vote for one

-Edward J. Newton Jr. (incumbent)

SCHOOL COMMITTEE (three-year term) – Vote for two

-Stephen Doret (incumbent)

-George Thompson (incumbent)

ASSABET VALLEY REGIONAL VOCATIONAL DISTRICT SCHOOL COMMITTEE

(four-year term) – Vote for one

-Paul George (incumbent)

TRUSTEES OF PUBLIC LIBRARY (three-year term) – Vote for three

-Edward Baldwin (incumbent)

-Kathleen Daly (incumbent)

-Open Seat

(Helena Engberg will not seek re-election)

WESTBOROUGH HOUSING AUTHORITY (five-year term) – Vote for two

-Open Seat

(Charles Anastas will not seek re-election)

-Jill Dupree (incumbent)
