Marlborough – Marlborough-based Employment Options, whose mission is to empower individual and families in recovery, was awarded a $10,000 grant to support the organization’s expansion of its social enterprise, Catering Options.

Catering Options is part of the agency’s principle that employment is an essential tool toward successful mental health recovery. The Foundation for MetroWest, which supports human service needs in 33 cities and towns in the region west of Boston, made its announcement in December.

“We know our organization exists because of our philanthropic partners in the region. As we expand and become more self-supportive through our social enterprise organizations, the commitment from the Foundation for MetroWest has made the efforts successful. The work is ongoing,” noted Toni Wolf, executive director of Employment Options. “With the expansion of our catering commercial kitchen, our supporters recognize the impact our social enterprises have in providing employment opportunities to our members.”

Catering Options provides full service catering for events of all sizes in metrowest, while also providing professional training and work experience to unemployed and underemployed individuals.

The Foundation for MetroWest is the region’s only community foundation connecting the philanthropic interests of donors with demonstrated need in the areas of family support, arts and culture, environment and youth development. Through a combination of donor advised funds and unrestricted dollars, the foundation has granted over $9 million to charitable organizations and currently stewards more than $15 million in charitable assets for current needs and future impact.
