Shrewsbury – Nearly 6 million pounds of food, 131 partner agencies, 4.8 million meals, 101,700 people in need.
These are staggering numbers from last year. Then again, the Worcester County Food Bank in Shrewsbury is up to the challenge of meeting the problem behind these numbers. As its mission statement reads: “To engage, educate and lead Worcester County in creating a hunger-free community.”
Donations come from many sources including state and local governments, the food industry, food drives and community members.
