‘Pet project’

Cartoon/Ed Turner

Grafton – For many families, a pet is not just a dog or cat; it is a beloved family member. And while saving human lives is of course the top priority for firefighters, they do try their best to rescue pets if it is safe to do so.

During the month of August, the Grafton Fire Department is requesting donations so that they may purchase two pet saving kits. Each kit will include special equipment designed to handle and treat cats and dogs that have been affected by a fire.

Several businesses are planning fundraisers to benefit this cause. Those interested in making a financial donation may mail a check to the Grafton Fire Headquarters, ℅ Animal Rescue Fundraiser, 26 Upton Street, Grafton, MA. 01519. (Note “Pet Rescue Grant Account” in the memo.)
